What I am is a homeowner with a house that needed painting. I called five companies. Two never called back. One booked an estimate and didn't show — twice. One quoted over the phone, sight unseen, and got cagey when I asked about primer. The fifth wanted half down in cash before touching a brush.

The sixth, found by asking a neighbor who'd asked her neighbor, showed up ten minutes early with a folder of past jobs, walked the whole exterior, and emailed a line-itemed estimate that night. He did excellent work at a fair price. The difference wasn't luck — it was that somebody had vouched for him.

So I started writing names down. Which pros showed up. Which ones put scope in writing. Which ones came back to fix a punch-list item without an argument. Neighbors started asking for the list. Then their neighbors did.

That list is this site. We check licenses, insurance, and recent references before anyone joins, and we track how they behave after. It's free for homeowners because contractors who do good work are happy to pay for customers who already trust them.

You should be able to get your house painted without it becoming a part-time job. That's the whole idea.
